Problem Note 48127: Running a Base SASĀ® procedure on DB2 in a z/OS operating environment might result in an error
Running a Base SAS procedure under z/OS against a DB2 table might result in the following error:
ERROR: Requested function is not supported.
This issue might occur with the following procedures when the system option SQLGENERATION is set to DBMS or DBMS='DB2':
- MEANS
- RANK
- REPORT
- SUMMARY
- TABULATE
In-database processing of the procedures for SAS/ACCESS® Interface to DB2 under z/OS is not supported until the second maintenance release of SAS 9.3 (TS1M2). The table is retrieved from DB2 and the processing is done in SAS as was done previously.
The only workaround is to set the system option SQLGENERATION=NONE.
